Myriam

Driving the entrepreneurship of COMMUM stems from my passion for social research and the commitment to creating a space for development and experimentation through digital communities.

COMMUN has a strong personal imprint shaped by my life journey, where the professional and personal have always gone hand in hand in a dance of concessions that has led me to face powerful challenges.

My curiosity has always been fueled by the need to understand the world we inhabit and to actively and committedly be a part of it.

Throughout my career, spanning over 25 years and developed both in multinational companies and research institutes, I have nurtured my curiosity by helping brands and institutions create pathways to connect with the social realities of people, their environments, and their personal circumstances.

I belong to the generation that witnessed the birth and growth of the Internet, and we have been involved in its study as a primary stage where a significant social change was taking place.

In the last 15 years, I have focused my professional interest on the study of Digital Communities and the possibilities that the digital environment opens up for listening to the social subject, culminating in a doctoral thesis titled “The Digital Community: Theory and Practice of a Qualitative Methodology of Social Research.”

My teaching career in various public institutions and universities has never left me; the need for the engagement that an educational environment enables has always felt like a natural part of me.

Currently, I am fortunate to be an associate professor in the Department of Methodology and Theory at the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology at the Complutense University of Madrid. Additionally, I am part of the Research Group on Responsible Communication and Vulnerable Publics at the Faculty of Information Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid.
